Wedding Themes are a great way to create special memories of your wedding.
Why have a boring, run of the mill wedding when you are spending all that money. Sure you can have the long white dress, flowers etc of a traditional wedding but where is the fun in that?
You can have a special creative wedding that is beautifully personal if you take the time and plan it. Within this article, you will read about a great Fourth of July wedding, a barbeque wedding and Movie Theater Wedding, few more unique and helpful ideas to make your special day more personalized.
Fourth of July Weddings.
The fourth of July weddings are cool and if you do it at a public event, it is a memorable one for sure and can save you tons of money. First of all you need to talk with whom ever runs the big fireworks display in your town, in our small town they’ve allowed brave souls to step up to the microphone and ask their future spouse to marry them. A few years ago, one brave man stepped up and asked his girlfriend and the next year they were married at the fireworks. They both wore comfortable clothes, and once the minister announced them as Mr. and Mrs., the fireworks began I cannot think of a better way to celebrate a new life together.
If you like this idea but do not wish to do it, so publicly there is a great alternative to it. Simply plan to throw a big Fourth of July party at your location and have the minister there. Many ministers will come to a location other then a church to marry those who wish to be married.
Your wedding invitations could read, as they normally would but include a card saying that it is a casual picnic as well. If you have someone create them on a computer, you have more control over the text, colors, and graphics. You could add little graphics of fireworks rather then the traditional graphics.
For the food, make it like a traditional picnic and make it a dish to pass, and save money there. This way you do not have to worry about special diets or the costs of food. Use the money you would be renting the church with and buy the meat for the events.
I have been to one of these are it was very nice, the bride and groom were dressed in casual clothes as was everyone else in attendance. The menu was classic picnic fare, but had a more festive tune to it, and it was a dish to pass event.
The couples stood and said their own vows, and were married to each other as the smell of barbeque wafted thru the air. The minister who was the bride’s cousin sat down and ate dinner with us before embarking on his Saturday night traditional church services.
After a dinner of great food, the groom and his band got up and sang a song for the bride. The groom played with the band for a few more songs and then he joined his bride as the band played on through out the night.
The bride’s mom created invitations as well as the banners that hung outside announcing the nuptials on her computer. This wedding we truly a family event, created with love and was cheaper but better then most weddings because it was fun and free flowing.
Movie Theater Weddings,
My friend Chris C, went on a first date with Pete to the local movie theater in the summer of 2006. That is where they choose to create a fantasy marriage in remembrance of their first date.
Chris C first asked the owner of the theater if it was possibly and the owner told her that one couple had already done it. Therefore, Chris C began making her dream into a reality. I was going to be the officiant but I could not get the time off work, so the Mayor married them. Our other best friend was the maid of honor, and I sat in the audience with Ray.
Chris C created the invitations on her computer and they were wonderful. They looked like a strip of film with the usual text but customized for her needs. She also went ahead and created programs for everyone that listed family members’ names and special memories of the couple. The popcorn boxes that had with a personalized message from Chris C and Pete and passed to every one as they entered the theater. Anything that she designed on her computer she did beautifully.
The manager hung plenty of movie posters, which were the couple’s favorite movies, and it made for an awesome background. The manager’s staff with Chris C’s help created a personalized slide show of family and friends of the couple.
The wedding reception was catered with some of the best food in the county. The couple had asked their families to make a special dish for the reception. The tables had the usual sprays of flowers and candy, but the tables had filmstrip paper on them and movie related themed confetti sprinkled on them. It was a wonderful wedding to attend.
Other theme weddings
If the couple enjoys fishing then why not have a fishing themed wedding? Have the minister and couple in a boat just off the water’s edge doing the vows. After the vows, you can come ashore and everyone can cast his or her lines and fish for the supper. You invitations could be fishing related.
Sock hop wedding
Play the sixties music, and make the invitations with sixties flair. To take this one further search on the internet for tasty dishes from that era.
Other Things to consider.
When you are planning a wedding and feel the need to focus on a theme, have fun with it. There is no law, which states a wedding need to be held in a church so a park, beach, or lawn is fine if it suits your needs.
Out door, weddings are beautiful and can make for awesome wedding photos but remember tents incase of inclement weather or for shelter for the sun. Out door, weddings are also perfect for both smokers and non-smokers alike. Make sure to have those bug repellent candles around to help keep the bugs away.
