Three Great Chinese Restaurants in Dubuque Iowa

by wet bin

There are several different places to sample delicious Asian cuisine in Dubuque, Iowa. For the purposes of this article, we will be focusing on three of the best places to enjoy a delicious Chinese food meal in Dubuque. All three places serve good meals and provide solid customer service.

Our first restaurant is the House of China located at 170 John F. Kennedy Road or JFK to Dubuquers. Their phone number is (563) 557-8275, and they also maintain a web-site at houseofchina.com . The House of China serves lunch daily from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm. The House of China dinner hours vary by day and are as follows: Monday through Thursday: 4:30 through 9:30 pm; Friday through Saturday: 4:30 through 10:30 pm; and Sunday: 4:30 through 9:00 pm. The menu at House of China contains an ample supply of dishes. It is separated into low carb, appetizer, lunch, dinner, and spirit options. A personal favorite dish of mine is the Snow White Shrimp which carries a consistent price of $5.50 for lunch and $9.85 for dinner. This particular option is on the low carb menu and many of the other dishes on this list exist in the same price range. An appetizer will run you four to six dollars, and lunch is consistently in the five to seven dollar range. Dinner carries a twenty dollar minimum order. If your meal consists of you and a date, dinner will run you between two to five dollars over this level on average.

Next on our list is the Great Dragon Express located at 1435 Central Avenue in Dubuque, Iowa. This Chinese restaurant is a great place to stop in for lunch, especially if you order from the lower priced options. A great highlight is the Sweet and Sour Triple! The Great Dragon Express is open on weekdays, Monday through Friday for business people in the downtown Dubuque area and is also open on Sunday.

Our last featured location is also located in beautiful downtown Dubuque. The Yen Ching restaurant serves some of the best Chinese cuisine you can find. Yen Ching is open for the business lunch crowd on Mondays through Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and reopens for dinner on the same days from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. They are closed all day Sunday. While the décor may need a little updating, the food certainly does not! A personal favorite is the Egg Drop Soup.

Whether you are out near the west-end of Dubuque, Iowa or cruising around downtown there are several options for you to choose from if you are looking for delicious Chinese food.
