According to a recently published Los Angeles Police Department press release, three infamous gang members among the Los Angeles Police Department have been arrested for being connected to the shooting of a 9-year-old girl who was sitting in her bedroom.
The incident happened on Monday, September 11, at around 4:50 in the afternoon. A suspect on foot approached the 9-year-old girl’s residence located on the 1400 block of Cochran Avenue. Two other suspects waited inside a vehicle. The suspect on foot walked down an alley and fire one round of gunfire at two Hispanic men who were standing in the doorway of the residence.
The bullet from the gunfire ended up traveling through the outside wall of the home, striking the 9-year-old Adriana Varguez in the arm as she sat on her bed doing homework. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition and released.
During the investigation being done by the Wilshire Detectives revealed information that exposed the identities of all three suspects involved in the shooting. The suspects were identified as 19-year-old Carlos Morales and 24-year-old Raymundo Villarreal. The shooter was also identified is being a 14-year-old juvenile who’s name has not been given out by police.
All three suspects involved in the shooting were arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Currently, the 14-year-old juvenile is being held without bail, while both Morales and Villareal are being held on $50,000 bail. Police believe that the harmful shooting was indeed gang related and was in retaliation for a gang shooting that happened back on June 27th of this year.
