With hot summer days and steamy summer nights upon us, we all need somewhere to go to cool down. Thats where Sandcastle Water Park, located in Pittsburgh, PA, comes in.
There are many water slides and attractions to visit when you are at Sandcastle. Try the Blue Tubaluba Tube Slide, which are Sandcastle’s first dual rider, enclosed slides. Two 450-long slides end in a 4-feet deep pool. Jump on the Boardwalk Blaster’s Body slide for some extreme action. This slide is recommended for stronger swimmers. Riders race down two 25-foot long slides to a 7-foot free fall into a 12-foot deep pool. The Mon-Tsunami Wave Pool is a 20,000 square foot wave Pool that makes ocean-like waves, with depths ranging from zero to six feet.
And, of course, theres something for the kids. Wet Willie’s Water Works Children’s playground is 20, 000 gallons of splashing excitement! Children get to pull their own ropes, twist valves, and turn handles to unleash water, fountains, and sprays. There are also slides for them to go down. There are hundreds of chairs for the parents to sit in, with plenty of shaded and sunny areas. Check out the Lazy River Relaxing Tube Drift. Lay back in a tube and float gentle down “Lazy River.” Sandcastle offers single tubes, double tubes, and rafts for floating adventure. Tad Pool Children’s Pool is a swimming pool that is just for the young un’s. The pool is 2-feet deep, has two slides, and plenty of wading space.There are many more slides to choose from at Sandcastle, such as the Cliffhangers Tube Slide, the Lightning Express Extreme Body Slide, The Thunder Run tube Slide, and the Tubers Tower Tube Slide. Or just relax in the Sandbar Pool, and listen to the sounds of the waterfall while swimming from zero to three and a half feet.
Sandcastles also offers Formula One speedway Race Cars. Each ride lasts about 5-7 minutes, and guests must be 57 inches tall to ride. Come challenge your friends! Separate charges do apply. And while you’re there, enjoy Sandcastles Dive-In Movie nights. Starting at 6:00 pm, enjoy swimming in the wave pool until dusk when the movie starts! Also enjoy live entertainment from Radio Disney.
