Vitamin C Detoxes the Body of Sodium Nitrates and Other Environmental Pollutants

by wet bin

How much smog and air pollution are you breathing in every day? How much over processed, chemical induced foods are you consuming every day? How about other toxic chemicals we use to clean with or use on the job? All of these things cause stress on the body and none are healthy. Is your body equipped to fight off the effects that these harmful chemicals and pollutants cause? If you’re not getting sufficient amounts of Vitamin C in your daily diet, chances are you’re at a high risk of having a toxic build-up in your body.

There are over 50 pollutants in the air, water and our food, that ascorbic acid, also known as Vitamin C, affects the carcinogenicity and toxicity of.

The consumption of sodium nitrates can cause the formation of nitrosamines in the stomach. Sodium nitrates are a food additive in many processed meats and fish, especially smoked products. It adds coloring and flavoring and is a food preservative, but the only thing in may be preserving in your body is the build up of these cancer causing agents known as nitrosamines.

Evidence shows that if you consume Vitamin C along with these processed meats it can stop the formation of nitrosamines. But the Vitamin C has to be present at the time of consumption. If you wait several hours after taking Vitamin C, it will be gone from the digestive tract and not be of any help. It’s also important to get extra Vitamin C so part of it will prevent the formation of nitrosamines and the other part will continue on its journey to other bodily processes that require Vitamin C to function.

The body produces these nitrosamines naturally, so even if you don’t eat smoked or processed meats and fish, they are still available in the body by nature. Taking Vitamin C in smaller doses throughout the day will help prevent the natural formation of these carcinogens as well.

All nutrients are extremely important and beneficial to overall health and bodily functions, but none come close to the amount of processes that Vitamin C is used for. Vitamin C is used by nearly every part and every function in the human body. This is why it’s so important to make sure you get well over the amount of the RDA guidelines. The RDA guidelines were set as a prevention of scurvy, but the cells in the body need to be completely saturated with this vital nutrient. Knowing that so many factors can deplete the body of this nutrient makes it even wiser to supplement several times a day.
