With summer quickly approaching, many families will be taking weekend tips and vacations. One of the most popular destinations to take a trip is to the beach. The beach is a great place to visit with your family. The beach offers many great activities including sunbathing, swimming, surfing, playing in the sand, and so much more. I would like offer a list of essential items that are very important when taking a trip to the beach. Here are a few important items to take with you on your trip to the beach.
One of the most important items to bring along to the beach is sunscreen or sunblock. Skin cancer cases have been on the rise for many years. One of the reasons for this is the increasing UVA and UVB index. Prolonged unprotected exposure to the sun can be harmful for you and your family. The younger your children are, the higher the SPF factor should be on their sunscreen or sunblock. Also be sure to buy waterproof sunblock and reapply the sunblock through out the day. Nothing can ruin a vacation more than having a sunburn. So make sure to keep your skin protected with sunblock or sunscreen on your vacation.
If your family includes small children, try to bring some toys along with you to the beach. Floats, sand toys, and frisbees are a couple of things that can help keep your kids entertained during your trip to the beach. If you bring sand toys such as a bucket and small shovels, your kids can enjoy trying to build sandcastles then have fun knocking them down. Bringing floating devices such as boogie boards and rafts can also give your family hours of entertainment in the water. Goggles and snorkeling equipment can also be fun for kids.
If you are looking to get a great tan and relax on vacation. I would like to suggest you bring a favorite book with you. With the beautiful setting of the beach and the sound of the waves, it could be a great place to finally finish that novel and get a great suntan as well. Magazines are also another great thing to bring to read to the beach as well.
Finally, be sure to bring a camera or camcorder. It is great to capture the memories of your vacations. Some of my most prized possessions are my pictures from my previous vacations. Pictures and video are priceless (well except for the price of video tape and picture development). Just make sure that you are careful with the electronics. You obviously do not want to get your camera or camcorder wet. Salt water is very lethal to electronic equipment. Sand can also be very bad for electronic devices as well. I would suggest bringing one of those larger zip lock plastic bags and keep the equipment sealed in that while you are not using it.
These are just a few things to bring on a vacation to the beach. Remember to bring toys, sunblock and sunscreen, cameras, and reading material. The beach can be a fun, yet relaxing vacation destination. I hope these tips will help with planning your trip.
