Renting a bike in Ireland is amazingly easy. There are several companies that will rent bike by the day or by the week. You even have the option of renting a bike in Dublin and dropping it off in Galway if you are so inclined to bike your way across Ireland.
The plus side of biking in Ireland is that it is green friendly and will allow you to view Ireland, in this instance Dublin, at your leisure. You can bike through the streets of Ireland or through popular tourist sites such as Saint Stephens Green at your leisure. You can enjoy everything at your own pace.
Another popular option is a guided bike tour of Ireland. Many companies offer an hour and a half to two hour bike tour of Ireland. This will take you to beautiful areas of Ireland that you probably would never have stumbled upon by taxi.
Bike rentals in Dublin typically run 15-20 Euro per day for an adult bike or 70-80 euro per week for an adult bike. If you plan on a one way trip it is recommended that you call at least a week in advance to reserve your bike. One way bike rental typically runs about 100 Euro per week and is only avaiable at select bike rental locations.
If you are worried that you might not be able to bike to your destination you will be happy to know that buses and trains are often able to accommodate your bicycle for a small fee.
The following is a listing of various Bike rental locations throughout Dublin. One thing of note is that although at the time of writing this all of these locations are in business the rising cost of insurance has caused several bicycle rental operations to go out of business.
